FAQ

What is the difference between Ahiflower Omega Oil and other Omega Oils?

Ahiflower Omega Oil is derived from the Ahiflower plant, so it is a vegan alternative. It’s the only plant-based omega oil that’s been clinically proven to be as effective as salmon oil.

What does Omega Oil do and how does it work?

Omega Oil supports skin, coat, heart, and joint health. Omega-3s reduce inflammation and help support heart health.Omega-6 and omega-9 support immune and skin health, and joint flexibility.

Why does a dog benefit from omega oil supplements?

Dogs can’t make these fatty acids in sufficient amounts, so they need them from their diet or supplements.

What is the difference between WagWell Omega Oil and Omega Chews?

Omega Oil is unflavored and goes on top of food whereas Omega Chews are chicken flavored soft chews.

    She loves it!

"I have a picky dog with dry skin. I've tried many things for the outside but never anything for the inside, until now and she loves it! Even her groomer noticed a difference!!"

"No strong smell and my pups, who can be picky, had no issues eating it."

Noticable results in skin and fur!

"Very happy with this product! Previously I was giving my three dogs salmon oil and decided to try the Ahiflower after reading some of the benefits. We have seen noticable results in our squad's skin and fur in a short period of time! Their fur feels so healthy and soft and natural! We like that our furbabies are getting such great results without the smell of the salmon oil. My only complaint is that I wish WagWell sold a larger bottle size since we have 3 dogs. Highly recommend!"

    Q&A

Can this be given to cats? My cats allergic to fish and wont eat the supplements but will eat oils mixed into his food and the other oils don't have as high of an omega content as fish oil. Hoping this can help get some omegas in him.
Hey Liz! Our products are solely formulated for use on dogs, and therefore have not been tested on cats. We recommend speaking with your veterinarian to ensure this would be safe for your cat!
what are the levels of EPA and DHA?
Thank you for your question! Our product has a minimum amount of 80 mg/g of DHA. As for EPA, we cannot guarantee a minimum amount because Ahiflower oil is reliant upon the conversion of SDA to EPA for that specific fatty acid. The conversion rate of SDA to EPA has around a 20-26% efficiency rate(compared to .01-8% for ALA to EPA). Our Ahiflower Omega Oil has a minimum of 128 mg/g of SDA. Hope this helped!
I am wondering how dogs with very sensitive tummy’s, eating limited ingredients have been tolerating the Ahiflower oil please.
While it’s important to note that every animal will react to Ahiflower Oil differently, it has the possibility of being easier on sensitive stomachs as it lacks the trace amounts of contaminants like heavy metals (mercury, cadmium, etc) and pollutants that can be found in salmon/fish oil. Our Ahiflower Omega Oil is unflavored and doesn’t contain fillers or common allergens. All this aside, it is always best to check with your vet about what will work for your pet!
